his beak.
Parrots don't usually do this, y'know? They eat their food if they
like it, they drop it if they weren't immediately sure, and if they
know they don't like it, they'll push it back at you without beaking
it at all.
Weird bird.
Perhaps contemplating the follies of building an all-celery nest, which resulted in a number of extinction events during the Great Ranch Dressing Typhoon of '39? (Only second in bird eco-disasters to the great Buffalo Sauce Hurricane of 1912.)
