Music enriches the 10-year-old soul

Rosie started playing cello in 4th grade and stuck with it over the summer. After a rough start with her first rental (the bridge kept falling off), she's really enjoyed the instrument. In the 5th grade strings program, many of the students previously in strings moved over to band (it wasn't offered in 4th grade) and it's more of an elite group now. Rosie is one of four cellists, and there aren't any bass viols at all.

Hopefully that means more hands-on attention for the remaining strings players! I'm looking forward to many years of watching her improve her playing. :-)
